You’re invited to the last summer public night of 2026 at Cronyn Observatory!

Have you ever wondered what an astronomer actually does? Spoiler: it’s not just night sky observing. Prof. Pauline Barmby joins us on Saturday, August 29th to pull back the curtain on what a career in astronomy really looks like – the research, the surprises, the different paths that lead people into the field, and the many doors a background in astronomy can open.

As always, the Observatory will be open for tours and hands-on demos. If the skies cooperate, we’ll have the telescopes out for one last look at the summer sky. 🔭
