What actually happens when stars die

August 1 @ 8:30 pm - 11:00 pm EDT

Stars don’t last forever – but what actually happens when they die? The answer depends on the star: from quiet fades to catastrophic explosions that outshine entire galaxies. Join us on Saturday, August 1st, as Prof. Sarah Gallagher walks us through the final chapters of stellar lives, what these dramatic endings leave behind, and what they mean for the universe around them. 💫

The evening kicks off with a talk in the classroom, followed by a tour of the Observatory and hands-on astronomy demos. Skies permitting, our telescopes will be ready for observing – a perfect chance to explore the night sky on a warm summer evening. 🔭

FREE admission, no registration required! Drop by for a unique evening under the stars.
